It’s summer and it’s hot! What better way to cool down than with a generous serving of cold Ice Cream and Halo-Halo!


This Filipino concoction  is really popular during the hot summer months (March-June) in the country, just as ice cream is.  Ice cream is the best summer treat! 


Halo-Halo is a traditional summer cooler from our country,  Philippines. The halo-halo basically is sweet, creamy, and a filling dessert. Halo-halo , from "halo" means "mix"  is a favorite Filipino dessert or snack.  It is basically a mixture of sweet preserved beans(red beans, chick peas), coconut meat (macapuno), jackfruit (langka), pounded dried rice (pinipig), sweet yam (ube), cream flan (leche flan), shreds of sweetened plantain (saba), filled with crushed ice, milk (or coconut milk) and  topped with spoonful ice cream. It is usually served in clear  glasses that show its colorful contents that tempt one's taste buds.


This summer I just go to malls and summer getaways (travels)  and I really  enjoy the summer treats,  many times in different branches of  Mang Inasal . I enjoy Mang Inasal's Panamis , Halo-halo and Turon Split! Turon Split is with the turon saba and ice cream ! It's fun and yummy! 


Summers are never complete without these delectable all-Filipino treats.
